Carli Davidson and Shaking Dogs
Animal photography when done with creativity and finesse can garner worldwide fame and publicity. No one knows it better than Carli Davidson who shot to international fame and recognition in 2011, when her photographs of dogs shaking water off their bodies became a rage on internet. Carli combined cute looking dogs, water and high shutter speed to capture some of the most absorbing and delightful photographs. After “Shake” series going viral all around the globe, Carli used this opportunity to follow up with “Shake” with a lot of good work in animal photography.
Carli dedicates her services to local animal organizations and enjoys the company of animals at her home as well. Born in 1981 in New York suburbs, Carli has an experience of performing many odd jobs including being a tattoo shop girl, zookeeper, a bouncer and a photographer for the house of representatives in Washington. But all these jobs were mere steps towards her ultimate goal of animal photography which she started to take seriously in 2007 while working in Oregon Zoo. Carli currently operates from Portland OR and lives there with her two pets Norbert and Yushi and yes, her husband Tim. She also loves to perform the duties of being a caretaker of many foster dogs.
In 2013, Carli decided to publish 130 photographs of ‘Shake’ series as a book which is titled as ‘Shake’(So obvious! isn’t it?). For all those animal lovers especially the ones who think dogs are true friends, this book is definitely a collectible item.
Before releasing her book Carli collaborated with Variable and they created a slow motion promotional video for her book. Using a high speed Phantom Flex, Jonathan Bregel and his team has created this amazing piece of video which we promise will bring a smile on your face. Till the time you decide to do something as amazing as “Shake” series, enjoy this video and images.
